A Valiant Woman – where can we find her?

Kevina Kamba is a valiant woman.  She was an orphan with no brothers or sisters and grew up in an adoptive family.  She was instructed and baptized in the Catholic Church as an adult.  On 21st May 1949, Kevina married Timothy Kamba and they lived in Namengo, Budaka, Uganda.  They had eleven children. Our Sister Pauline Nakayale was their fourth child.

Timothy Kamba, Sr. Pauline’s father, died on 19th May 1987.  Kevina Kamba continued to raise her family.  To this day she continues to raise eight grand-children, left orphaned after her three sons died.  She provides for them all by tilling the soil.  When Pauline was on home leave she was very happy to be helping her mother on the land by weeding, digging and planting seeds.

In conversation one night, Kevina remembered that on 21st May she would be 60 years married.  So to celebrate, Pauline invited her to our community in Mbikko for a few days.  Pauline shared about the 60th anniversary with the community.  Naturally a celebration was planned, beginning with Mass and continuing with a wonderful meal.

Kevina was greatly surprised that Pauline and the community remembered and even more delighted with the celebration.

We congratulate Pauline’s mother, Kevina Kamba, on her life’s achievement and for the care she continues to give to the young children in her care.

A Valiant Woman indeed!
