Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi Launches Mother Kevin Post Graduate Medical School

On Friday 19th September 2014, Uganda Martyrs University officially opened the Mother Kevin Post Graduate Medical School at Nsambya hospital.  For details and photographs of this memorable expansion of medical education at the place where Mother Kevin started her first dispensary under a Mano tree in 1903, link to Uganda Catholic Voices website at:

St Francis Schools participates in Kenya Schools and Colleges Music Festival

St. Francis secondary school participated in the music festivals for the first time in their history...  Our students stepped out of their marginalized area and status by joining thousands of students on an equal measure during the music festival. Sr. Kathleen Moran Celebrates her Golden Jubilee at Mount Oliver, Dundalk, Ireland

This year, on 30th August, I celebrated 50 years of Religious Profession. 

As I reflect on the past half century, I am filled with gratitude to God for calling me to be a Franciscan Missionary Sister for Africa and for many ordinary and extraordinary experiences. A Double Celebration in Scotland for Jubilarians Srs. Rosemary McCaffrey and Agnes 

A double celebration took place this year in Scotland when Sr. Rosemary McCaffrey celebrated her Diamond Jubilee marking sixty years of Religious Profession and Sr. Agnes Bradley marked 50 years as Professed  Sister with a celebration of her Golden Jubilee.

kenya.jpgFour Sisters make Temporary Profession at our Novitiate House in Kiamaina, Kenya

It is with joy that we celebrated the Temporary Profession of vows of four of our novices on 5th April 2014. Bishop Maurice Muhatia celebrated the Eucharist with them and Sr. Pauline Nykayale received their vows on behalf of the Congregation.  We thank God for our new members.  The newly professed sisters will now leave the Novitiate House.  Sr. Elizabeth Mbaririro from Zimbabwe will go to Wau in Southern Sudan, Sr. Josephine Mutyembu from Uganda will join our Greccio Community in Kenya, Sr. Rumbidzai Mafuu from Zimbabwe will go to Lusaka, Zambia and Sr. Topistar Kataike will join our community in Park Road, Mutare, Zimbabwe.  We wish them every blessing in their new communities and ministries.
