marys golden jubilee greeting a friend.jpgSr. Mary Courtney Celebrates the Golden Jubilee of her Religious Profession on 20th April 2017 in Zambia.
Mary’s life as a FMSA has taken her to three countries in Africa –Uganda, Ethiopia and Zambia. Out of her fifty years of Religious Profession she has spent 38 years in Africa of which 23 of these has been in Zambia. Presently Mary is working as a nurse midwife with Community Volunteers providing quality care to people living with HIV and AIDS, Cancer, Mentally Challenged, physically disabled and Orphans.  To read more click here>>>

Sr. Tibberiah Nyarangi Makor makes First Profession as a Franciscan Missionary Sister for Africa  

Congratulations to Sr Tibberiah Nyarangi Makori FMSA who made her first profession of vows as a Franciscan Missionary Sister for Africa on 22nd April 2017!   Our sisters arranged a beautiful Mass in the Novitiate Chapel in Kiamaina, Kenya. The celebrant was the Vicar General, Fr. Mbugua and concelebrant Fr. Maina.   To see photos and read more

A cause for Rejoicing!   Mother Kevin is declared 'Servant of God' at Rubaga Cathedral, Kampala. This is the first stage on the journey towards Canonisation.

Psalm 27:4 One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the lord and to seek him in his temple. This text was my scripture text in summary of my life as I finish the Chemichemi renewal course for final vows preparation in Nairobi for 6 weeks. Sunday 10th April, 2016 marked the First Profession Day for Sr. Anne Wandia Mbithi at our Mother kevin Novitiate, in Kiamaina, Nakuru, Kenya. The celebration began with prayer on the Eve of the Profession, a preparatory event intended to focus on the forthcoming gathering and to encourage and give thanks for Sr. Anne as she makes a vowed commitment to the Congregation.   Read more>>>

Sr. Miriam Duggan Receives Presidential Award from President of Ireland

On 2nd August 2015, Mount Oliver Convent, Dundalk commemorated 80 years 

The Parish of Jenkinstown invited the Sisters at Mount Oliver to a special Mass to celebrate the Year of Consecrated Life.  It was decided to combine this celebration with a celebration of 80 years of the Franciscan Sisters at Mount Oliver Convent.  We are grateful to the people of Jenkinstown for making this celebration so special for us.  To read a timeline of Mount Oliver's history, click here >>>

Official Opening of Sensory Garden at St. Francis Nursing Home, Mount Oliver, Dundalk 

On 25th June 2015,  a Sensory Garden in our Nursing Home was officially opened.  The Garden is the result of a lot of hard work undertaken by the Friends of St. Francis and our dedicated Nursing Home Staff who raised funds tirelessly so that our Residents could enjoy this beautiful space.  Our thanks also go to the creators of the garden.  To see pictures of our Garden and the official opening,
