Families, friends and Franciscan Sisters gathered at Emmaus Conference Centre in Swords, Co. Dublin on May 23rd to celebrate the Golden Jubilees of Religious Profession of Srs. Breda Flanagan, Deirdre Burgess, Rena Condron and Marie O'Brien.  The celebration had been planned for April 25th, but three of the Jubilarians could not travel because of 'volcanic ash' and family members were also affected.  Read more>>>

There was great rejoicing on April 23rd 2010 when a new Nutritional Centre was opened by Mr. Tony Cotter, Irish Ambassador to Zambia and Mr. Seamus Gleeson, Director of Touch Ireland, who funded the building of the new Centre.  Read more>>>

Graduands and Staff Graduation at Twizembe Centre, Mbikko, Uganda

On 26th November 2009, 63 Functional Adult Learners (FAL) and 14 Community Health Workers (CHW’s), who studied for a year at Twizembe Centre, graduated at a lively, colourful and enjoyable ceremony.  The FAL program included literacy skills, Income generating and entreprenual skills.  FAL frees people once covered in shame because of illiteracy and transforms them into self-respecting people...
