Golden Jubilee of Sr. Paula Healy

 

 

 

 

   

We celebrated Sr. Paula’s Golden Jubilee Mass in the Parish of St. Paul’s, Chipata Compound, Lusaka, Zambia on the 12th April 2015.  The church was packed for the occasion.  Fr Maybin Nshinga, the main Celebrant, was assisted by Fr. O'Brien Chanda (Passionist) and diocesan priests Frs. Lawrence, Moses and Kennedy. The altar and sanctuary were beautifully decorated. Deacon Finke, who is the German Ambassador in Zambia, gave the homily.

The choir was wonderful. They put their hearts and souls into the singing.  The Papal Blessing, which came by special delivery, was presented to Paula.  There was a very joyful atmosphere and people were milling around Paula to congratulate her.  

After the Liturgy we had a delicious leisurely lunch in the garden where a marquee had been erected.  We enjoyed the beautiful jubilee cakes - there were two!  We continued the celebration into the evening.

A wonderful day indeed!
